A Home Within matches volunteer therapists with youth in foster care or former foster youth (no age limit) to provide them with pro bono weekly therapy in a private practice setting "for as long as it takes." The therapist and client decide together how long therapy will last.

Most of our clients meet with their therapist via telehealth, though sometimes it works out for clients to be seen in a therapist's office.

In NJ, we have a small but growing chapter of volunteer therapists. Currently, we have openings for clients over 18, but a waiting list for clients under 18 (it is harder to find child therapists).

Eligibility	Clients complete a referral form and intake form to ensure the needs of the client can be met by one hour of pro bono weekly therapy, usually via telehealth. The person seeking services must have spent time in the US foster care system or currently be in foster care. There are no age limits but it takes longer to find child therapists, so children in NJ wait much longer for a therapist match than people 18 and older.
