Level 1 Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT). The training is 3 days, day 1 is open to anyone, days 2 and 3 are limited to 60 clinicians August 19, 2025, September 17, and 18 2025.
Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) is a nationally recognized, evidence-based treatment designed to address adolescent depression, trauma, and suicide. Grounded in attachment theory, ABFT helps repair ruptures and rebuild emotionally protective parent-child relationships. Day 1 learning objectives, list and define the five treatment tasks of ABFT. Illustrate how to create a secure base in the therapeutic alliance. Implement strategies for emotionally focused family conversations.
Day 2 and 3 objectives, Describe the five treatment tasks and how they facilitate therapy. Describe how attachment theory directly informs ABFT intervention. Describe and facilitate in vivo, corrective attachment experiences that challenge negative interpersonal expectations, improve emotion regulation and foster more attachment promoting parent adolescent interactions.
