American Martial Arts Academy

The American Martial Arts Academy offers a wide range of benefits to students of all ages, such as concentration skills, development of balance, flexibility, strength and coordination, and learning the importance of courtesy, self control, and self-discipline.

  • Little Dragons ages 4 to 6
  • Youth Program ages 6 to 13
  • Teen Program ages 13 to 17
  • Adult Program ages 18+

Our philosophy involves a non-violent approach to conflict resolution-to teach the importance of courtesy and respect towards others, to cultivate confidence, self-discipline, and a strong belief in oneself, to create an atmosphere where people in our community feel safe, happy, and cared for, and to teach basic martial arts skills.

Our Martial Arts program encompasses 5 different disciplines outlined in 3 areas of study:

  • Art Form: Japanese Shotokan and Americanized Tae Kwon Do karate (this is the traditional martial arts stances, blocks, history, and forms/katas)
  • Sport: Kickboxing/Sparring (students are taught to move, breathe, block, punch, and kick properly)
  • Self Defense: Hapkido, Grappling, Wrestling (for conflict resolution, stress management, injury prevention, and learning to handle dangerous situations)
